The Silent Tear
Lone stands the soldier in
the icy winds that blow,
Witnessing silently the
massive mountains,
Getting covered up with
snow,
Further plummets the
mercury;
Freezing even the lakes and
the swift rivers that flow…
Love may not always be warm,
For the soldier finds mother
nature’s love
even at negative
temperatures warm..
For the soldier guarding the
motherland frontiers,
his tough mind hasn’t no
fears;
and his heart harbours no
qualm..
The father’s mind wanders in
the moments,
Spent with the ones dear and
near..
His lips arch up and the fighter
smiles,
And longs his heart for his
family;
That is divided by miles…
Emotions stir in the tender
husband’s heart,
They flood and brim over his
eyes as a warm water drop,
making its way slowly to the
white earth is the rolling tear,
What only remains unfrozen;
‘mongst the snow clad
mountains is the soldier’s silent tear…
